RapidRise

The research begins with the observation that the bodies of laborers, as well as those of diverse crops and microbes native to a landscape, are largely absent from industrial fermentation. In this endurance performance, I immerse my body in 200 kg of rising dough to counter the absence of so many bodies with the solitary presence and slow disappearance of my own body – a live confrontation of monoculture and industrial food systems.
